This was the winter that never was. Mild temps, not a ton of snow. Blink and it’s already March which means spring is just around the corner.
I had a week off in February, right before President’s Week. I didn’t do much, in fact I mostly binge-watched some shows… but the one thing I did do was treat myself to a facial, which is something I haven’t done in a long time.
I mostly have decent skin, I’m lucky in that sense – but I did have some areas that were bothering me. A lot of congestion on my chin and forehead. My aesthetician took one look at me and called me out on two items:
- I don’t drink enough water (true.)
- I was removing my makeup with water that was too hot. (Guilty as charged.)
After a relaxing hour minus the 10 minutes of extractions I was on my way with a new drive to take care of myself. I’ve been working on my water intake and removing my makeup outside of the shower with lukewarm water using a double cleanse method.
This Make-Up Breakup Oil from boscia is a long-time fave of mine for the first step:
Then I follow up with a regular cleanser.
For daytime I prefer a tinted moisturizer and concealer to a full coverage foundation for my skin type, but I make sure what I use has a decent amount of SPF and will use this Neutrogena Clear Face Liquid Lotion on my neck. Any kind of sunscreen works, but I like this one because it doesn’t take 9 years to absorb.
The Supergoop! Glow Screen I actually just purchased the other day and so far I like it a lot. It has a teeny bit of coverage and a sheer finish so it almost acts as a gentle highlight. It’s really nice for good skin days.
As for an everyday tinted moisturizer: currently I’m using this one from Nars, but I also love Complexion Rescue from bareMinerals which is another one of my go-to’s.
So there you go, a few of my faves from my current routine. I’m a Sephora VIB Rouge, (which means I spend entirely too much in the store), but I also love a good drugstore bargain. If you have any recommendations for products you’re absolutely loving at the moment, leave me a message in the comments below!
PS: None of these items mentioned above are paid endorsements.
Hope you have a great day + I’m looking forward to hearing all your faves!
