Preschool dance recitals are always cute, but this one really takes the cake for most entertaining. Keep your eye on the girl in the middle of the screen. At first she keeps up with the rest of girls… then, barely able to contain her excitement (or able to remember the routine?) she starts freestyling!
Only a few people really know how I developed a relationship with The Harlem Globetrotters, making their visit each year one of the most anticipated ones for me.
About 5 years ago, my friend, Cubby, from Cubby and Carolina in the Morningwas asked to participate and actually PLAY during a Globetrotter game at Madison Square Garden. The bit was that he would get to practice and play with the opposing team.
When he asked me to come to support him, I thought to my myself: “Heck, I am not missing this for the world!”
Little did I know, there was a surprise in store for me too.
That day I met their super-publicist (seriously, Eric is THE BEST). After Cubby introduced us he asked if I had ever sat court-side at Madison Square Garden. (I hadn’t, duh.)
Right then he offered to upgrade my seats: Score! Now I would get to see Cubby from real close up and wouldn’t miss any of the action.
Spoiler alert: I didn’t miss any of the action, in fact I became part of it:
Whoa, flash back to the past. Look at my hair… haha! Anyway – that was day one of a life-long friendship with my Globies! These guys are the greatest.
If you’ve never been to a game, it’s much more than that… The Harlem Globetrotters are pure entertainment and lucky for us they’re playing a few area shows!
Tonight (Friday) at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ
